4 months in
Yesterday my son hit 4 months old, and shit is getting really interesting. The biggest thing is he's starting to take long naps. But developmentally he's also starting to reach for things, and make noises at himself which is great. We as parents are starting to figure out the difference between gas pain crying and tired crying which means that there's much less of the former.
As for me, my olympic lifting is going very poorly. I don't know what's going on, but the little muscular endurance I had built is GONE. A session used to be 21 reps of either clean or snatch with ever increasing weights. Friday I made it to 8 before my hamstrings cratered. Not sure if this is diet, stress, or just old manness, but it needs to be investigated.
On the weapon projects front, I made a post to www.reddit.com/r/ar10 about my 4 MOA palmetto state armory AR10. The sub was incredulous that the rifle was that bad, and suggested I try a few different loads before attempting to true the receiver and/or bed the barrel. So...today I did.
Now I have to go home, measure the groups, and post an update as promised. This is actually really working on this gun. My preliminary results from today's shooting tell me that it's accurate enough for deer hunting, so I probably won't bother rebarreling it, but I will true the receiver face and bed the barrel to see if it makes any difference at all. Also, I got one of my SilencerCo muzzle brakes in, and tossed it on this rifle. Last time I had this rifle out, I put 40 rounds though it in an hour and a half, and by the end I was flinching because my shoulder was beat up so bad. Today...40 rounds in 30 minutes, and I could have kept going for hours. Wow, for being a "shitti" brake according to my buddy at Lantac, it did wonders!
